Forever Lei Workshop
$50 per person to create a single-strand
day of option to add-on double-strand (extra charge)
In this workshop, you will learn how to mindfully & intentionally make an all-natural lei that you can gift or keep & display as a work of art.
We will be working with all-natural materials like:
wood
shells
raffia
nuts
seeds
berries
flowers
flower buds
leaves
Lei Po’o by the pool at the Samurai House
Immerse all of your senses at the famed Samurai house.
We will be mindfully engaging all of senses in this community gathering, where you will get to tour every room of the Samurai House, make lei, have refreshments, dip in the pool & listen to relaxing sounds at golden hour.
Gina, trained in MBSR, of Eco Mindful Lei will be leading us through a history of the house, point out some areas of textural & artistic interest. Which you will be free to experience on your own.
As you wander this gorgeous home on your taking notice of all you see & experience.
Then we will gather as a group to participate in mindfulness activities that will engage each one of our senses, delight, & surprise you!
The benefits of practicing mindful attention in this way is endless, and will include the sensory experience of lei po’o making for you to wear & enjoy.

Lei Po’o Making Workshop Pigment - Point Loma
Aloha! Lei po’o making is a deeply rooted Hawaiian tradition in making a lei (garland) for the po’o (head). It was practiced to honor relationships, give blessings, and share gifts. Gina Kananipua, is a trained Marriage & Family Therapist & the founder of Eco Mindful Lei. Her belief is that Lei making is not a frivolous activity…it’s medicine. It utilizes all of your senses therefore it’s a form of mindful stress reduction. Gina lives in beautiful Oahu, Hawai’i where she is an active steward of the ‘Āina (land), Sustainability Educator, and student in Halau Kahiwahiwa. She teaches creative practices rooted in environmental, social & economic Sustainability Teaching simple traditional acts of play & creativity are both healing in our modern lives. She empowers others to create & mālama (care for) our community, our earth, and this place we call home.
Gina will be making the journey to San Diego and bring a lei po'o making workshop to us. Join her and learn the lei po'o making process and take home a beautiful, intentional piece of wearable art.

Herbal Wands and Atmosphere Sprays
This workshop is a collaboration with Indigo Elixirs. We will gather and set intentions for our home and space. Mindfully creating herbal wands made with gathered locally grown plants used to cleanse our spaces.
Deanna from Indigo Elixirs will help us craft our very own blend of atmosphere room sprays using essential oils, and gathered herb essences.
It will be held at Island Bungalow in Ka’kaako.

All About Ti Earth Day Workshop
Join me and my very special colleague Scott Kitamori, educator on Sustainable Community Hawai’i Food Systems in this hands on workshop!
In this workshop you will learn how to create a Ti leaf lei La’i, how to harvest, grow, propagate, and compost ti leaves. As always it will all be set with intention, and learn all the properties and uses of Ti historically and modern day.
It will be set at beautiful Waikiki Food Farm.

Sunflower Field Floral Tiara Workshop
vWaimanalo Country Farms Picnic, and floral tiara workshop experience.
We will be amongst the most beautiful places on Oahu, the sunflower fields in Waimanalo. We will mindfully connect with this special place and create a sustainable floral tiara (or half-crown) with fresh locally grown florals. Can be worn up high or on your forehead, you can create it how you like it with individualized instruction in this small group intimate environment.
What’s included: Charcuterie board, Sunflower event admisson, private sunflower picnic area, fresh squeezed farm lemonade /tea. Pillow cushion seating.
Afterwards feel free to frolic through sunflower fields, listen to the buzz of the bees, and take as many pics as you would like in the multiple photo op areas.
The sunflowers are only around for a short season so don’t miss this stunning place to create connect and experience.
