“After doing all the typical tourist attractions in Hawaii (Pearl Harbor, over price shopping on Waikiki beach, Luah, etc) I really wanted a more meaningful, off the map type of something to do. This was right up my alley! What first attracted me to the crown making class was that it was organized by a licensed therapist, so I knew it was going to be a more in depth activity. Gina was perfect! We started out with a meditation that helped me feel connected to the sand and the water and disconnected from the chaos that can sometimes happen when you travel in on vacation with your family! The beach where we met was secluded, peaceful and so clean. Gina was able to give me a few detailed insights about the traditional Lei Po’o crown and every flower that I used in creating my crown symbolized either love, appreciation and respect. This was a really peaceful, creative and therapeutic project to do. Hawaii is already such a magical place aesthetically, so being able to connect with the island and its people on a deeper level was exactly what I wanted. I’m glad I signed up for this.”
